Medieval Yard Work

The grassy areas around the cloistered gardens are hand trimmed by a diligent worker ( no doubt an intern ;-) .  The Cloisters Museum, NYC.

Glowing Redwood

You don’t often see Redwoods on the East Coast which is why I’m fascinated by this one I came across more than 20 years ago in Buck Garden.  This photo is a recent one taken yesterday. The official species is found on its attached nameplate shown below.

Coleus in the Garden

I’ve never seen coleus in this color before and thought it highly unusual.  I’m used to seeing the usual reddish, purplish and green variety.  A quick google turned up dozens of different color variations and once again re-enforced my feeling of almost total ignorance when it comes to flowers and plant life in general.

The Arbor

It was a beautiful Labor Day in New Jersey,  I spent part of the afternoon shooting in the Frelinghuysen Arboretum.  I guess you might say that this is the arbor in arboretum.  More to come this week.
