We took a ride yesterday “down the shore” to Ocean Grove, NJ. Ocean Grove is an historic beachfront town and the home of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. More info is found here. The photo above is of the Association’s late 19th century auditorium used for religious purposes , but also known for its Saturday night concert entertainment. Last night was “doo wop” night and I got a chance to catch a few minutes of rehearsal of the Drifters on stage. The town has a treasure trove of victorian beach town architecture, a great beach and pier and a reach back to a more subdued, quiet and peaceful approach to summer shore life in New Jersey. I strongly recommend a visit and will be posting additional images in the next few days.
