Red, White and Blue (Tricolore)

Street photography where the primary subject is a stranger is not one of my strengths.  There is something about making direct eye contact or asking for permission that makes me very uncomfortable.  In this case I was lining up to shoot the red door for my Windows and Doors Collection when the elderly lady in the blue outfit walked into my field of view.  I  got both shots.  This one practically speaks French to me.  What do you think?

Bravo, Canada

This choice is to honor our friends to the north for hosting the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  Unfortunately the only quasi-appropriate shot I have was taken several thousand miles to the east of Vancouver in Quebec.  For those who need to know;  beyond the familiar flag of Canada are (in order) the provincial flag of Quebec, the flag of the Fairmont Hotel chain and the flag of Quebec City.   Apologies to Adam who has criticized me for using too many photos from Quebec on this Blog. Sorry!

St. Lawrence at Quebec City - September, 2009

Quebec is such a picturesque locale that I couldn’t resist making another pick from my collection yesterday.  The sky in this shot is what attracted me to include it today.  There are so many other choices that I will  need to return to this subject in the near future.

Ocarina Man - September 2009

I thought we needed to add  a human element today so I chose “Ocarina Man” to fill that role.  He’s a craftsman and street musician who we met in Quebec City on a pleasant Sunday afternoon while shopping for gifts for the Grandkids.  I asked him if a picture could be part of the deal and he agreed.  Thus, Willie got an ocarina from our trip to Canada.
