Ice on the Rocks

Clinton NJ.  The stonework is everywhere in this image.  The buildings, the embankment, the sluice wall in the foreground … so why then the caption ‘Ice on the Rocks”?   Frankly, “Ice on the Stones” just didn’t cut it.

Phyllis and I will be away on vacation for the next 10 days touring Portugal.  My guess is we will have massive numbers of photos to post after our return on October 3rd.  Until we return I hope the gallery below, taken in Clinton NJ last Sunday, will fill the gap.  Thanks for looking.

Water Smoothed Boulder

In the North Branch of the Raritan River through Ken Lockwood Gorge. I didn’t test it but I got firsthand feedback from a fly fisherman that the water was very, very cold.

St. Lawrence at Quebec City - September, 2009

Quebec is such a picturesque locale that I couldn’t resist making another pick from my collection yesterday.  The sky in this shot is what attracted me to include it today.  There are so many other choices that I will  need to return to this subject in the near future.
