Soft Snow

by Ed Collyer

A light snow was falling this morning coating trees, shrubs and grass with an inch or so of accumulation.  The grayscale treatment was produced in Silver Efex Pro using a soft preset with minor adjustments in brightness and sharpening.  Home in Basking Ridge NJ.

Crooked Tree

I’ve photographed this tree a number of times over the last 25 years.  Yes I know, I need to get a life. This time it has a very different appearance. Usually the trunk is covered with climbing ivy and the branches are hidden by a full growth of leaves. Its a deep, dark green in summer and bright yellowish-orange in Fall.  Here it is stark and skeletal, almost as if its near its end.  I hope not.
