Although generically known as a “false” cypress it actually is a member of the cypress family. The weird details can be found here. This is the first post of a photo from the latest addition to my camera inventory, the Panasonic G3. The G3 is the most recent upgrade in technology by Panasonic and will serve, along with my GF1, as a small, highly portable but high performing travel kit this summer. Taken at Bamboo Brook Garden near Pottersville NJ.

Twisted Tree in Fall
I saw the Winter version of this subject at Natirar the other day and it just didn’t measure up to the shot I took last Fall. This is one of my favorites for 2009. You can see all 147 of them by clicking on the Flickr link here or below.

Quad Tree
I must confess that I did not shoot this image … nor did anyone else. This is the product of a classroom exercise that started with a stock photo of a tree in silhouette. My contribution to the process was to flip it both vertically and horizontally and adjust contrast and color to get the above result. I guess “kaleidoscopic” might be a good term to use to describe it.

The Emerging Beast in the Swamp
Sounds like a great title for a “B” horror flick. Actually its just a deformed tree trunk found in the Great Swamp. I hope its apparent to you. I always doubt myself when it comes to my personal vision.
