This is post number 550 going back to January of 2010. The image above was posted during the first week and deserves a reprise for this occasion. I noticed looking back that my commentary in early posts was brief and concise but has diminished to a bare few words of mostly location information. So, in the spirit of a New Years resoluion, I’m planning to do the following in 2012:
- Provide more information about the shot including location and some technical details, but also my vision for what turned out as the final product.
- Include more human element in my work. I’ve been using my self-identification as a “landscape” photographer for as long as I’ve been shooting to dodge dealing with people as primary subjects. Over the past few years I’ve been exposed to the work of photographers like Joe Holmes and Steve McCurry that has really impressed me and I’ve realized that I’m missing out on a very large and important body of subject matter. Now all I have to do is break the ice and learn how to reach out to share in the experience.
- Find a new outlet for project work now that SoFoBoMo has shut down. One possibility is to self-publish project oriented eBooks through this blog.
Well, that’s it for resolutions for now. Here’s hoping that they survive and pay some dividends in 2012.
