This is the shot that convinced me I made the right choice when I purchased my new Tamron 70-300 lens. The painted turtle sunning himself while perched between some swamp brush was a good 25-30 yards from my vantage point. The image above, about a one-third crop of the full photo, is remarkably sharp and contrasty for a 300mm (480 eqv.) handheld shot . I’m impressed.
