Spring has been slow in arriving this year here in the Northeast. I stopped by Buck Garden in the middle of the day on Saturday planning to use shade to block the bright sunlight overhead for softer lighting effects.  Problem was there was no shade since leaf development is so far behind schedule.  Fortunately I had a long lens with me which allowed me to focus in on small targets where the light could be more easily controlled then wider areas of landscape.  Here are a couple of examples.  Click on the images for a larger view.  EdC.
