I had some time to kill on Staten Island on Saturday so I took a drive along the southwest shore on Arthur Kill Road where I found what appeared to be a group of dilapidated tanks at the intersection with Chemical Lane. The perimeter was fenced off with plywood panels but the essence of the scene was still visible from the roadside. St Luke’s Cemetery was adjacent to the property on the north side giving an ominous look to the view from that perspective (right). This area is a rich environment for urban/industrial subjects which I’ll need to revisit under better lighting conditions in the future. Click on an image for a larger view.
