We took the train from Sestri Levante where we were staying south to the furthest town in Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore). Our plan, given the weather and the crowds, was to work our way back north town by town as much as we could within the day. That turned out to be going to Corniglia, the third town in the string, which give us great views up and down the coast. Clearly the beauty and culture of this area deserves more time than we had to give it. The good news is that we will have plenty to see when we return.
